Dirty and exhausted, tired and weak,
We came home, waiting for God to speak,
To some he did, to none he neglected,
Tho, some in their anguish, were not affected,
Eyes opened to truths new and sweet,
Through these offerings, were made complete,
They were few, counted on a hand,
But with awe and power did they stand.
When their names were cried out,
The angels from heaven, did grin and shout,
Another one saved, and another won,
The fight for heaven had long begun.
And on the long ride, did the tired fall,
Asleep in the arms of angels all,
For some it was a coming home,
To others it was a jouney unknown.
To some it was a whailing in the wind,
And the rest, a place to begin.
Seated, weary, an angel beside me,
I descovered the freedom to be free,
The smiles upon waking, smiles of trust,
I knew I was saved, be it must!
So in knowing this I away to thought,
Waved away sleep, and my distraught,
Tasting heaven from my faith,
Praying that I'd stay awake.
That the knowledge of what I learned,
Was stay forever, forever burned,
Into my mind, kept alight,
So I would never, ever, forget that night.
