Starcrossed Love
What power hold the stars, In me they hold love's grasp, For by just looking and thinking, Stars, and girl respectively, I could fall in love. Something about their majesty, Their beauty, And immobile grace. Their points of light, As their good points, Becoming their most important, Overcoming any flaws, Becoming all I see. Perhaps I exagerate, Just a slight, In claiming such power, For the stars. Maybe it would take the girl, And a blanket, and a night, Full of stars, Conversation, Laughter, To make me fall in love. And, please, you bitter ones, Out there, I know you hear me, And to yourself think but, "It is lust he feels... "Perhaps a little friendship." And touche. Perhaps that is true, Perhaps you have rightness. But love is love is love. Defining itself, For no other words, Can define love. So, bitter pills of the world, Give me the stars, And keep yourselves, Far, far away. Stare at yourselves in a mirror, And grace me the girl, And my love. |
