Or, how I spent part of my time off.
Smell that, son? That’s ozone! I love the smell of ozone in the morning!!
After a fairly dry season, we’ve had rain twice this past week (and hail on Thursday, o joy). All the accumulated smog has been washed out of the air and is now glugging through our water supply, but the air’s all clean (for a while). A new storm’s blowing in, after 1) rain on Thursday 2) a gorgeous day Friday 3) a nice Saturday morning. The birds clustered around the feeder, making the most of the nice weather to scatter more millet on my patio, drop sunflower seed shells all over the place, and shit on my neighbor’s balcony fence. (And two of them impacted the glass patio door. Can’t have a fun day of BTV without a few avian impact statements.)
Following the announced demise of the Thursday Thirteen, I got my brain in gear, came up with some plans, and put up a site for a meme-community. Then Thursday Thirteen announced that — no, wait — yes, ownership / maintenance duties had been formally transferred. So the meme won’t be going away after all. The community’s still on, though. In the course of putting up the new site, I finally delved into actually writing raw SQL queries and have achieved yet another level of code-fu.
...and if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to sit in, drink some hot apple cider, and watch Jericho again. (Yay, OnDemand!) I’ve been geeking all morning, and I feel the need to relax for a while. Possibly write down more notes for the community. I know I’ve forgotten something; I’m just moving so quickly, I don’t know what I’ve forgotten.
