...as in, "May you live in interesting times"-interesting.

This weekend was interesting. Mom and I spent Saturday having breakfast, then meeting up with an ex family member whom we both miss, then shopping. Then I went home and cleaned house.

This weekend was interesting. On Sunday I updated the billing software, went through a minor panic when my CMS software provider rebranded themselves (thus changing domains, thus sweeping away my cookies…and I couldn’t log into my account), and slept. A lot. A lot a lot. Ursa came and slept on top of my head; Monkey slept by my feet; and Fog slept by my shoulder.

This weekend was interesting. On Sunday, a relative (whom I had managed to get rid of, as a web design client) called me with questions on what to do about their web designer. Apparently, the designer was claiming that something the customer wanted was not possible. Now, it’s possible…but not with a neat, clean back-end setup (and not without considerable retooling of what said designer had already done.) The relative’s choices were: pay the final 1/3 and keep this new design with the incorrectly-functioning previous/next links; pay the final 1/3 and keep the new design with the incorrectly-functioning previous/next links removed; or don’t pay the final 1/3 and revert to the previous design (the one I put together for them, with directions on how to update it themselves). After some wrangling, the relative has decided to contact someone local to them, because they want face-to-face dealings with someone. (Which is what the relative should have done in the first place. And no, it isn’t me - I actively campaigned to get out of that position some time ago.)

This weekend was interesting. While doing research for my northward move, I found out that my apartment complex is trying to get people to pay quite a lot for apartments of the size I’m currently leasing. This, despite the fact that this neighborhood has had four gang-related shooting deaths in the past 300 days. (The current going rate is 50% above what I’m currently paying. Here’s to not attracting the landlord’s attention - I don’t want to have to relocate until I’m ready to move to a different state.)

And this week is supposed to be nice and schizophrenic, weather-wise.

Yep. That’s microclimates for you.

The opposite of the religious fanatic is not the fanatical atheist but the gentle cynic who cares not whether there is a god or not.
