What *wouldn't* I do?!?? Quite a bit, as it turns out...
I have spent a few Christmases alone. They were not horrible. While sometimes I enjoy family get-togethers, they can and do try my patience. (I am more quick to reach my socialization-threshold than any of my other relatives.)
The Christmases I’ve spent by myself have been, frenetically busy, slow and lazy, and everything in between. Once I was working on a client’s web project — I’d had a pretty good idea, and didn’t want to wait and risk losing it. Another time I slept in, made coffee, lounged about in my fuzzy sweats, and read the whole day. If I don’t do a certain thing on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, it doesn’t stop my world or leave me feeling just a tiny bit empty.
But I’m not quite ready to take down my holiday lights.
