Still waiting...but things look bright.
For everyone who’s sent their good thoughts:
My dad’s procedure went well. His heartbeat is regular now, and should stay that way for many years. (At least, that’s the hope.)
My interviews went well. I have one final phone screen with another developer tomorrow. I’ve already fired off “thanks for meeting with me” emails to the two people who gave me their cards. They’re interviewing one additional candidate tomorrow (from a different agency - not too surprising, since I saw several nearly-identical postings for this job, posted by different recruitment firms), but I’m hoping that they’re impressed by my skillset, work history, and willingness to learn more JavaScript. I don’t love JavaScript, because it fubars all kinds of accessibility guidelines; but used properly it can enhance the “screen” portion of the site without mucking up the “screen reader” portions. It’s a bit dismaying to have yet a fourth interview to go through…but then again, it’s better that they say “we’d like you to speak with one more person” and make sure I’ll be a good fit for the team then either hire too quickly, or stop at three and say, “okay, that’s it - we’re done”.
