When bored contractors turn to stone - next on Fox.
I am so bored. I mean it, I’m really really bored.
Last week saw the night of the long knives here at this place, meaning that 10 people were walked out. The contractors (another 13 or so folks) were told that our last day will be on 15 May. The question is…what in the peeping blue hell will we do until then? Between the wind-up of one product cycle and the realignment of business (ie, the ompany has decided to cut out some of its more marginal products and services), there is nothing to do. Not only is the place like a ghost town, but there is literally nothing to do. My big exciting task last week was to evaluate the U.S. FedGov’s infamous Section 508 and list off what this company would need to do to be in compliance. [ Hint: it’s a lame duck compared to international standards of accessibility — do it once, do it right, save yourself some money. ] This week…I’m rewriting 20 error messages.
