One of the most prolific writers in history, on any imaginable subject. Cared little for art but created lasting and memorable tales. - Which science fiction writer are you?
If you are ever in a bookstore, and you see a book by Isaac Asimov (usually titled "Asimov on [some subject]", get it. Do not delay, to not temporize, do not worry about reading a little bit of it to see if you'll like it, don't let anyone else see you with it and give them a chance to snatch it out of your hands. Isaac Asimov is the seminar teacher I would have liked to have: wide range of knowledge, good at relating said knowledge, good at connecting seemingly-unrelated bits of information together and showing you the pattern (or better yet, teaching you how to find the pattern yourself). He even did some basic textbooks at one point: Chemistry, Math, Physics. I'd dearly love to get my hands on them. Other subjects he's covered include Shakespeare and the Bible (both old and new testaments).
(Of course, part of me wonders which other authors were possibilities, and if I could have scored someone like C J Cherryh or Octavia Butler.)
