(Note: this entry will be disjointed as all heck, but I leave you with a nice photo, so it’s not a total write-off.)

Missed my first day updating in December! w00t!!

...well, not really. I started feeling ill Thursday afternoon. By that evening, I was achey, chilled, but radiating heat like you wouldn’t believe. I went to bed at 6:30pm, and managed to not sleep for most of the night (doze, toss, turn, sweat, freeze, bleah). I tried to take my temperature, but couldn’t find my thermometer! (My hands felt hot, when I put them on my face. My hands never feel hot. Ever. I knew I had to have a fever.) All of my protectors visited at one point or another to make sure I was okay — or possibly just to take advantage of the radiating heat. Things got better when I took a nighttime sinus tab around 11:30pm, and around 1, I finally fell asleep…and stayed that way until about 8am.

Then Friday I got up, showered, decided that work was not an option, and made the doctor appointment and went shopping. Blue gatorade, pudding, applesauce, nilla wafers, graham crackers, saltines, soup, apples, peanut butter, milk, pear halves, bittersweet chocolate sauce, and 10 liters of ginger ale. Yay, supermarket club cards. I also got more sinus medication, a new digital thermometer, and more seizure meds. The doctor said that I may have a sinus infection, and advised rest-hydration-allthatjazz. I came home and napped for about three hours. Monkey came up, demanding to be under the covers with me. I held the covers up, figuring she’d go under, turn around, and come right back out like she normally does. She went under, turned around, and sat down, resting her chin on my arm.

When I got up from that nap, I refilled my giant thermomug and ate. I then found out that, while I have pear halves and chocolate sauce and the appetite to eat, I lack a basic puncture-can opener. Another thing I forgot to do, all day yesterday, was drink anything with caffeine. That means that while I slept all night last night, I woke up with a headache. (Anyone who says caffeine is not a drug has never gone through caffeine withdrawal symptoms.) It even hurt to move my eyes in their sockets. No sinus pain, because I’ve been conscientiously taking the sinus meds; but caffeine-withdrawal headaches are just as Christmas Tree Cat is…um.bad in their own sweet tyrannical way. I am now drinking coffee and prepping more photos.

My parents dropped off the miniature blue spruce on Thursday, and I set it up almost immediately. (“Setting up” means “taking it out of the box and plugging it in”. This is the ultimate quickstart tree.) Ursa has already knocked off many needles in his constant claiming of the tree; and Fog has already bitten the head off of one of the birds — which I don’t think she’ll do again, seeing as how all she got was a mouthful of fake yuck, and no bird brains at all.

Merry Christmas. Yo.
