I’m having a rather scrambled week. As a mark of how badly I’m mentally tripping over myself in my haste, I just finished my Thursday Thirteen post…and was very surprised that this week’s comments weren’t open yet.
A good friend emailed me last night with some news. For the past eight months, she’s been waiting to hear if she got a particular job…well, she started yesterday. It isn’t glam work, but 1) it’s a gub’mint job, so decent pay and benefits; 2) it’s a gub’mint job, so once people get one of those positions they usually keep them until they leave or there’s a military coup — highly unlikely, in Canada; and 3) people were sooooooooooo glad to see that she’d started. Things had backed up, there’s plenty of stuff to do…and my friend is like me, in some respects. Show her a pile of things that need organized, she’ll ask questions and make sure she understands how they need to be organized, and then she’ll attack the pile o stuff until everything’s been organized to a fare-thee-well. (Good gawd, did I just say that?!?? Quick! Administer chocolate - stat!!)

I’m off to pull data from the teeth of a recalcitrant database.
