It’s 80’s Flashback Day on TNT!!! Ferris Bueller’s Day off now until 10AM, then Breakfast Club. Nice way to spend the morning.
It’s been a long, long, long week. I applied for an apartment manager’s job, which would give me 1) my own place; 2) lowered monthly expenses (free apartment); and 3) slightly less pressure to get income from outside-the-home sources. I’ve been working this past week at a temp office job, but paying someone to make sure the support queues were watched while I was away…so my net income, after all that folderol, was pretty pathetic (even with the really really really low price I was paying.) I’m now in the “pins and needles” portion: waiting to hear what happens.
I’ve been (as I mentioned) working an office job the past week-and-a-half to get a little bit of extra income. I was cleaning up a completely derailed filing system, sorting their current files, pulling out all the stuff from folder A that really honestly should have been in folder B, sorting those into the new stuff to be filed, and stapling, two-hole punching, and putting them in classification folders. I did this for all fifty US states and a couple of countries. This is surprisingly labor-intensive…and there isn’t a way to make it better, not with the amount of repair work that needed done. Louisiana in particular is a bugbear of a state. Every separate parish has a separate business tax, and there’s upwards of 60 of them that this company does business in. Or with. Or whatever.
