Life Meme (found at Refuse to Blog).

  1. What time is it? Time to feed the cats.
  2. What is your full name? If I told you, I would have to kill you.
  3. What are you most afraid of? I can't write it down. It's too scary!
  4. What is the most recent movie that you have seen in a theater? The Prestige, starring Christian Bale and Hug Jackman. And David Bowie as Nikola Tesla (yup, really).
  5. Have you ever seen a ghost? Yes. Freaked the hell right out of me.
  6. Where were you born? Wichita, Kansas.
  7. Ever been to Alaska? Not yet; but I'm hoping to book a Geek Cruise to Alaska (let's hear it for business writeoffs!!!)
  8. Ever been toilet papering? Yes, about five times. Once with my parents, when we tp'ed a neighbor's house the night before said neighbors were due to arrive home from vacation. (It was just that kind of neighborhood.)
  9. Loved someone so much it made you cry? Yes.
  10. Been in a serious car accident? Twice: once when I was a small child, and again when I was a teenager. I wasn't the driver in either case; but for some reason ever since I was a small child I've had a feeling that I'll be killed in an automobile accident.
  11. Do you plan to have any more children? Nope; and have taken steps to ensure this.
  12. Favorite day of the week? Any day I don't *have* to dress nicely and go out in public.
  13. Favorite Restaurant? La Hacienda (continental) or Amarin (Indian buffet).
  14. Favorite Flower? Flame roses.
  15. Favorite color? Sangria (deep red). Or cobalt (deep blue). Any jewel-tone, actually...
  16. Favorite sport to watch? Canadian Extreme Sports.
  17. Favorite Drink? Coffee. With eggnog. (Barring that, cinnamon and nutmeg added to the grounds.)
  18. Favorite Ice Cream? Hagen Dazs' Aztec Chocolate. With much ice cream, I can snork through a large bowl in 15 or 20 minutes. This stuff...just a few spoonsful satisfied me. It took me a week, eating a little bit every day, to finish a pint. WONderful stuff.
  19. Favorite fast food restaurant? Mac and Don's Supper Club.
  20. What color is your bedroom carpet? The apartment's wall-to-wall carpet is beige. The area rug is sangria, cobalt, and hunter green with highlights of cream and sandstone. (And when did I become such a color-effete?!??)
  21. How many times did you fail your driver’s test? None.
  22. What do you do when you are bored? I look through my books for something to re-read; or I write down story fragments and conversations that come into my head.
  23. What time is your bedtime? When I can no longer keep my eyes open to read. (Usually around 10 or 11pm.)
  24. Favorite TV shows? Heroes, Battlestar Galactica, Firefly, Max Headroom. I am quite bummed that Max Headroom has not been transferred to DVD.
  25. What are you most grateful for? That changes hourly. I suppose I'm most grateful for my confidence in my ability to survive.
  26. What are you listening to right now? In the Garden of Souls, by Vas (Narada). I take a dim view of Narada, in general, because they developed a habit of releasing bland-o stuff to capitalize on the "new age music" market; but I picked up this album because other fans of the singer Lisa Gerrard commented on how much the lead vocalist, Azam Ali, sounds like Lisa Gerrard. They were right: the singer has many of the qualities that drew me to become a fan of first Dead Can Dance, then Lisa Gerrard. (Who is Lisa Gerrard, you may ask? If you saw the movie Gladiator [starring Russell Crowe, Richard Harris, and Joaquin Phoenix], you heard Lisa Gerrard's vocals on the soundtrack.)
  27. How many pets do you have? I have no pets. Three cats have me as a human servant.
  28. Which came first: the chicken or the egg? Who cares, I know what I'm having for breakfast.
  29. What would you like to accomplish before you die? I think I've already accomplished it: make people think more and react less; make people realize that they can change the world just by being the kind of person they want to know; and remind myself of both of these facts frequently.

I'd tag "all Holidailies participants who read this"; but since that would be redundant, I tag the Thursday Thirteen participants who read this post. Let me know when / where you've posted your list, and I'll link it here!

Making the simple complicated is commonplace; making the complicated simple, awesomely simple, that's creativity. — Charles Mingus
