Answer me these questions three. Or five (which, for once, is not Right Out).

Found over at Ealasaid's place. Meme rules:
- Leave me a comment saying, "Me, Me!!!" while waving your hand in the air.
- I will respond by asking you five questions.
- You will update your blog with the answers to the questions.
- You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.
- How did you find my blog? I actually met you at the third (or fourth?) NaNoWriMo Bay Area gathering. I was in the area, thought I'd try this NaNoWriMo thing out, and found a local meet-up. While it was fun meeting up with everyone, I confirmed that I am not a fiction novel writer. (Short stories, yes. Scenes, sure. Tutorials, articles, essays? I got your back. But a fiction novel? Nope, just not in me. I am far more comfortable with concepts than with people — and heavy-concept/character-light makes for a boring novel.)
- What would you say is the oddest cultural difference between the US and Canada? Mmmmm...odd? I don't know. I spent most of my time in Vancouver, which is pretty much like Seattle or San Francisco (at least in broadstroke). One thing I did notice is that there was an awful lot of righteous "we're not like those crazy-ass Americans, they all carry guns" in the first office where I worked. Either it was done to get a reaction from me, or because I was working with a bunch of zealots; but I didn't really hear similar talk in places I've worked since then. Other than that, the fact that Canada actually has global news coverage and the US doesn't...it was like I had blinders put on when I crossed back over the border. The average American can get global news, but they've got to work harder at it. (And most Americans can't get CNN Global for more than - what - four hours a day?)
- Share a goofyass story about your cats. (Mine do slow-mo kung fu fighting sometimes, and it is awesome, but definitely goofyass.) Just one? :D They're all fairly cat-oid, which means that most of the truly dignity-robbing stuff they do when I'm either not here, or not looking. Ursa, though, does the goofiest thing: he'll go into "stalking" mode, his ears prick up, his pupils dilate...and all of a sudden he'll jump straight up into the air about four feet, clap his front paws together, and then bounce away. Then five minutes later he'll come back from wherever he got to, calm and self-possessed as can be.
- Do you miss anything about the US? Aleve. You can't get Aleve without a prescription. I don't live on the stuff; but about once a year I really need a few days' worth. And the sausage is spiced differently, everywhere I've tried it. (That really caught me off guard when I first had some. I wondered if I was catching a cold, and that was affecting my sense of taste.)
- Recommend a book to me. I know I don't need more books, but I can't resist asking.
What genre? :D You could try Ed Bolme's Title Deleted for Security Reasons (set in the Paranoia RPG universe), if you can get ahold of a copy and are in the mood for gleefully warped. Child of a Rainless Year is a very vivid, poetic story of a woman discovering just who — and what — she is. Mildly urban fantasy from Jane Lindskold.
Okay - who's next!?!?? Leave a comment, and I'll prep some questions for you.
