Things are getting better. The fortune cookie promised!!!
SO. I haven’t been here in a while. Where have I been. Same physical location, just…concentrating on other things. I fell under a prolonged, yet glancing Attack of the Emo Cloud - so if I’ve had the energy to think of anything interesting or amusing, I haven’t had the energy to come and put it on the page.
Then I found my Silly Wizard CD, and played a few key tracks (repeatedly). Begone, vexatious Emo Cloud!! Nyaaaaahhhh!!!!!!
I’ve also hit a few other high points as of late. To wit:
Green, green, green
I live in Treehouse Central. Since it’s approaching summer in my hemisphere, the trees are in full…leaf. (Is that a proper term? Well, I suppose it is now.) I can now sit on my patio, blissing out on the curtains of leaves everywhere. However, this reasserts my need to get a digital camera so that I can share Treehouse Central with my friends, and hopefully make them jealous enough to come visit.
Bound for the Special Hell
I recently volunteered to help out with the setup work, and opening ceremonies, for the AIDS Lifecycle. I’ve worked with some event-planning/organizing groups, so I have experience with long days of setup and crowd control. Originally, after I signed up to sponsor my favorite cyclist, I thought “This is a good cause. This is a great thing. This is in my area. I can help with this!!“ The next morning, after talking with the extremely-thrilled-to-have-experienced-volunteers coordinator, I woke up with a different thought: several hundred well-toned people, mostly men, in tight-fitting summer-weight bicycle gear. I believe the technical term for this is ‘scenery’. (And I am a bad, bad, evil person. And, lo, I still do not have that digital camera.)
It’s ba-a-a-ack
This year’s charity Blogathon will kick off at 6am on July 29, 2006. There will be a different schedule for those observing the Hebrew sabbath. I couldn’t participate last year, and this year I nearly forgot about it completely (yes, that’s auspicious, isn’t it? but when I checked out the domain this morning, the site’s active (though very very basic), the forums are up (though - again - very very basic) and the folks who started the whole thing are back in the saddle, after taking last year off.
