Oh the weather outside is...confused.
Yesterday I swept two garbage bagsful of fallen leaves off of my patio. I knew that more would only accumulate, since the mild winter we’ve had so far means that most of the leaves were still on the trees as of Friday. (Yellow, but still hanging in there.) Still, I figured that it would probably be easier to clean up leaves if they weren’t a foot deep.
Last night, I was awakened several times by blowing wind, falling branches, and the loud rustling of yet more falling leaves. At one point I half-wondered if I should go out and bring in the birdfeeder, which hangs suspended two stories up from the ground (where the birds can get at it, but the squirrels have a more difficult time.)
The sky is greyblue today, which means that if there isn’t rain tonight, it will be cold and miserable for most of the rest of this week.
And tonight, on SciFi channel: Stephen King’s Storm of the Century.
Deep ironicness is mine.
EDIT, 4 hours later: ah, there’s the rain. Now I’m really glad I cleaned up all those leaves. It would have been a wet, slimy job had I waited until this latest storm front blew through the area (and blew all the leaves off the trees.)
